Tasty sandwiches and wraps
Sandwiches and wraps are one of the most common foods put into lunchboxes.
It is said the "sandwich" was named after the Earl of Sandwich (Sandwich is a town in Kent, UK). The Earl was a great card player. He asked for meat to be served between 2 slices of bread so he could continue to play cards without interruption.
That's the history lesson over! The question is do you stick with one or two types of fillings? Use the same type of bread? Are you looking for ways to make your sandwiches more interesting? More healthy perhaps?
Well here goes!
One of the easiest ways to make sandwiches more interesting is to change the bread! Sounds obvious! But how any of us stick with the same type of bread? Even though there are so many choices available.
The other way to make your sandwiches more interesting is to use a different filling.

Prevent soggy sandwiches
Soggy sandwiches taste horrible. One of the biggest culprits is the sliced tomato.
Prepare the tomatoes in advance and pack in a small bag or container. Add to your sandwich just before eating. Alternatively, if you are using lettuce leaves, pop the slices of tomato in between the lettuce leaves. This will stop them “bleeding” into the bread.
Talking about lettuce leaves, these too can become soggy, yuk!
Ensure you only put dry lettuce leaves into your sandwich. Again, you can always prepare, pop into a bag and add to your sandwich just before eating.
I always think it is worth the extra few seconds this takes to avoid horrible soggy sandwiches!
